Occupied WB, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Wednesday detained at least 12 Palestinian citizens during a raid campaign across the occupied West Bank towns and cities.
Local sources reported that Israeli forces broke into the town of Silwad to the east of the city of Ramallah and detained six people.
The sources identified the detainees as Mahmoud Hamed, Mohanned al-Shabrawi, Obada Hammad, Juma Hammad, Ismael Saleem and Taher al-Najjar.
In addition, the Israeli forces stormed An-Najah University in Nablus and detained three students named as Ameer Shalhub, Mohammed Salama and Ihab Ashour.
Moreover, the IOF forces broke into Azza refugee camp in Bethlehem and detained Ahmad Qaraqe, while detained Yehya al-Ja’far and Ahmad al-Nabhan from the city of Jenin.
Israeli occupation forces routinely carry out arrest raids in the West Bank. Around 40 percent of Palestinian men living in the occupied territories have been detained by Israel at some point in their lives.
According to Palestinian figures, about 4,500 Palestinians, including 32 women and 160 children, are currently languishing in Israeli detention jails.
