Jerusalem, ALRAY - Fanatic Israeli settlers on Wednesday morning broke into the Al-Aqsa Mosque through Al-Maghariba gate, under heavy protection from Israeli occupation forces.
The Jerusalem Islamic Waqf department reported that dozens of hardline settlers stormed into the Al-Aqsa compound in groups.
The settlers carried out provocative tours around the mosque and performed religious rituals in the Bab al-Rahma area.
Israeli occupation forces, meanwhile, tightened restrictions on Palestinian worshippers seeking to access the Muslim sacred site and seized their ID cards at its gates.
Since the beginning of this year, the Israeli occupation authorities have issued 375 orders barring Palestinians from accessing the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Al-Aqsa Mosque has seen near-daily raids by Israeli settlers, escorted by Israeli occupation forces, in a bid to impose a temporal and spatial division at the Muslim site.
