Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - At least eight Israeli settlers were injured on Sunday at dawn in a shooting operation in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem.
Hebrew sources said that four of the injured are in serious condition, and the others sustained mildly to moderately injuries.
The sources claimed that a Palestinian youth opened fire towards a bus near the Western Wall of the al-Aqsa Mosque in the Old city of occupied Jerusalem, and also at a nearby parking lot.
Following the incident, the Israeli occupation forces sealed off the Old City and blocked entrances and exists to the area, as well as broke into the Silwan neighborhood, south of the al-Aqsa Mosque, in search of the youth who reportedly carried out the operation.
In the same context, Hamas spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum said that Jerusalem’s shooting operation is a natural response to the occupation and the settlers and their daily crimes against the Palestinian people.
It’s noteworthy to mention that the shooting operation comes a week after the Israeli aggression against the blockaded Gaza strip, which resulted in the killing of at least 49 Palestinians, including four women and six children, in addition to the wounding of over 360 people.
