 West Bank, ALRAY - About 1200 Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails are to start on Thursday an open-hunger strike as a part of their protesting steps against IPS retracting March understanding that stated to improve their detention conditions.


Asra media office reported that it is due to announce the names of the leaders of the hunger strike by the captive movement, and it is expected that this number will be followed by other groups of prisoners in the coming days, as part of the upward struggle steps.

 

The detainees started by disobeyed IPS laws by refraining from going out to the so-called "security check", returning meals, in addition to wearing brown uniforms, closing departments, and dissolving the factions.

 

The total number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in the occupation prisons until the end of July 2022 amounted to about four thousand and 550 prisoners, including 27 female prisoners, 175 children, and about 670 administrative detainees, according to institutions concerned with prisoners' affairs.
