West bank, ALRAY - Israeli occupation forces arrested on Monday 16 Palestinians after storming their houses and searching them in different cities of occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.


Local sources reported that most of the arrests were in Nablus, Qalqilya northern West Bank, Hebron, Bethlehem in the south and occupied Jerusalem.


It added that IOF carried out wide military sweeps in east and south Nablus, and near Jenin after men shot fires towards Israeli forces and settlers Monday at dawn.  


The occupation army carries out daily arrest campaigns in the West Bank and Jerusalem, then transfers the detainees to detention centers in the occupied territories, before transferring them to interrogation centers or prisons.


The total number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in the occupation prisons until the end of last August reached about four thousand and 650 prisoners, including 32 female prisoners, 180 children, and about 743 administrative detainees, according to institutions concerned with prisoners' affairs.
