Nablus, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation army on Monday notified Palestinians of its intent to chop down tens of thousands of forest trees in the occupied West Bank city of Tubas.

Local official Moataz Basharat said that the Israeli occupation authorities ordered the removal of some 30,000 forest trees planted on a 1600-dunum tract of land in a pastoral reserve in the Atouf area, southeast of Tubas.

Abdallah Basharat, head of the Atouf village council, said that the notified trees were planted by the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture and the village council, with the support of international organisations.
