West Bank, ALRAY - Israeli occupation forces notified on Saturday evening of to stop construction of a Palestinian house in Artas village, south of Bethlehem, in the southern West Bank.
Head of Artas Village Council, Lutfi Asa’d stated in press release a force of Israeli army raided “Al-Atn” neighborhood, in the area near the Suleiman Tourist Pools, and handed Ahmed Saleh Abu Sway a notice to stop construction in his house, under the pretext of not having a license.
He added that violent clashes erupted between Palestinians and Israeli forces who stormed the village, during which IOF fired stun grenades poisonous tear gas at the villagers and their homes, but no injuries were reported.
According to data published by the Palestinian Information Center “Maata” in a report for the month of October, the number of homes demolished by the occupation in the West Bank and Jerusalem reached 27, in addition to dozens of homes whose residents were notified of the demolition.
The Israeli occupation authorities use the excuse of “non-licensing” to continue the policy of demolishing Palestinian homes and facilities, especially in Area C, which is under full security control.
