Hebron, ALRAY - The European Union has called for conducting a swift investigation into the extrajudicial execution of 15-year-old Palestinian girl Fula Masalmeh by the Israeli occupation army in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron.
In a press statement Tuesday, the EU offered its deepest condolences to the family of Masalmeh, who "was to celebrate her 15th birthday today, but was tragically killed by gunfire from Israeli soldiers near Ramallah yesterday."
"In many instances through what appears to be excessive use of lethal force," the EU pointed out.
The EU called on the Israeli occupation, as party of the Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC), to "ensure the rights of children, including ensuring their protection, care and dignity – and right to life."
The Israeli occupation military has killed 35 Palestinian children, including 15 girls, so far in 2022.
