Ramallah, ALRAY - Palestinian factions on Tuesday morning called for a general strike across occupied Palestine to mourn the soul of the detainee Nasser Abu Humaid who died in Israeli jails due to medical negligence.
Factional Coordination Committee called for a general national strike across occupied Palestine and to participate in rallies condemning the assassination of the detainee Nasser Abu Humaid.
In the same context, Hamas movement stressed the need to confront the new Israeli crime with a real escalation inside the Israeli occupation jails, so as to stop the criminal policy of deliberate medical negligence.
On Tuesday at dawn, the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs declared the death of the 50-year-old cancer-stricken Palestinian detainee in Israeli occupation jails Nasser Abu Humaid due to the deliberate medical negligence policy pursued by the prison service against Palestinian detainees.
The detainee Abu Humaid, who is a resident of the al-Amari refugee camp in Ramallah, was first detained in 1987 before being sentenced to a life imprisonment in Israeli occupation jails.
According to Palestinian figures, about 4,500 Palestinians, including 32 women and 160 children, are currently languishing in Israeli detention jails.
