West Bank, ALRAY - Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansou stressed the need to take the international community and the UN Security Council immediate steps to face Israeli blatant violations humanity, human rights violations and to provide protection for the Palestinian people.
He called for the need to chart a way forward to achieve justice for the Palestinian people and for Palestinian-Israeli peace, in accordance with international law and United Nations resolutions, including Security Council Resolution 2334 and General Assembly Resolution 194, and all other relevant resolutions.
He sent three letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council for this month (India), and the President of the General Assembly of the United Nations, regarding the continues Israeli attacks against Palestinians.
He noted that the death of the detainee Abu Humaid came as a result of the all forms of IPS ill-treatment, including medical negligence especially ignoring the frequent calls to release Abu Humaid in order to provide him the appropriate medical treatment.
He noted that PA pays great efforts to release the body of Abu Humaid so that his family could his family can bury him properly, calling on the international community to take immediate action to demand "Israel" to respect international law.
He noted that there are about 600 patient Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails who suffers different types of illnesses, 24 of them suffer of cancer and need immediate and appropriate medical care.
He stressed the need to exert pressure on Israeli occupation authorities to stop daily arrests against Palestinians, including the children. IPS arrests 4,760 Palestinians, including 160 children and 33 women, in addition to 820 under administrative detention.
He referred to the Israeli forcible deportation of the lawyer Salah Hammouri ,37, to France.
He called on the international community to condemned this illegal deportation, demanding the occupation authorities to abolish it and respect its obligations under international law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits deportation.
He called on the need to hold all who responsible of this heinous crime accountable, questioning Israeli occupation authorities regarding its crimes that committed by its military militias and settlers against the Palestinian people who have long suffered under colonial occupation and the apartheid regime.
