Jerusalem, ALRAY - An Israeli military court has postponed the trial of Palestinian detainee Khalil Awawdeh until 15 January.

Awawdeh, 40, was set to be released on 12 October following an agreement with the Israeli occupation authorities after 172 days of a hunger strike to protest his arbitrary administrative detention.

The Israeli occupation authorities extended Awawdeh's detention over claims of having a mobile phone that he used when he was moved from “Assaf Harofeh” hospital to Al-Ramla prison clinic.

Awawdeh was recently moved to “Ofer” prison. He has been denied his right to family visits since suspending his hunger strike.

The Israeli occupation is holding around 4,700 Palestinian detainees, including 34 women, nearly 150 minors, and 835 under administrative detention without charge or trial, according to Palestinian prisoners’ rights groups.
