West Bank, ALRAY - The Ministry of Health in Ramallah reported early Thursday that nine Palestinian citizens were shot dead by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in the Jenin refugee camp, and said that many other citizens were wounded, including several in critical condition.
Thus far, the situation in Jenin camp is extremely critical, with the Red Crescent reporting many injuries that are difficult to rescue and evacuate from the danger zone.
The Ministry also stressed that the IOF obstructed the entry of ambulances into Jenin camp to rescue the wounded persons, adding that the IOF stormed Jenin Governmental Hospital, and deliberately fired tear gas canisters towards the children's department in the hospital, which caused several children to suffer tear-gas suffocation.
Moreover, the Ministry called for an urgent meeting with the International Committee of the Red Cross and the World Health Organization to stop this Israeli aggression and intervene to save the lives of the Palestinian people.
The Ministry also appealed to all human rights institutions and the international community to take immediate and urgent action to curb the barbaric practices carried out by the IOF in Jenin.
