Gaza, ALRAY - Israeli occupation forces opened fire early Monday towards Palestinian farmers and fishermen in the southern Gaza Strip, no injuries reported.
Local sources reported that Israeli gunboats fired and chased Palestinian fishing boats off Rafah and Khan Yunis shores, forcing the fishermen to withdraw from the area. This coincided with Israeli warplanes breaking the sound barrier within the same area.
In a related context, the sources said that Israeli occupation forces fired tear gas canisters towards Palestinian farmers east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
Border areas across the besieged Gaza Strip are subjected to Israeli attacks almost on daily basis, deliberately targeting Palestinian farmers and fishermen, and forcing them to leave such areas for their own safety.
