West Bank, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation authorities transferred early Thursday three Jerusalemite detainees to administrative detention. The Commission of Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs (CDEA) said that the Israeli occupation authorities decided to transfer Palestinian detainee Islam al-Natsheh to administrative detention for six months until the 27th of July 2023.

According to CDEA, Palestinian Jerusalemite detainees Yamen Abu Rumouz and al-Bara’ Bekeirat were also transferred to administrative detention for a period of four months until the 28th of May 2023.

It is worth mentioning that the Israeli occupation authorities issued 260 administrative detention orders last January against several Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons.

The number of Palestinian administrative detainees inside Israeli prisons has reached nearly 860 detainees, most of whom in Ofer, Negev and Megiddo prisons, including seven children and two women detainees, namely Shorouk al-Baden and Raghad al-Fanni.

It should be noted that administrative detention is a detention without charge or trial, depriving the detainee and his lawyer of knowing the reasons for the detention in a clear and explicit violation of the provisions of international humanitarian law, and often the administrative detention order issued against the detainee is renewed several times at the last minute of the expiry of the previous administrative detention order.
