Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation army and colonial settlers have killed 31 Palestinians, including four children and a woman, in the last three weeks of January, according to the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

In its "Protection of Civilians" report covering the period 10-30 January, the UN body said that such toll is the highest since it began systematically recording fatalities in 2005.

During the same period, the Israeli occupation army shot and wounded 422 Palestinians, including at least 49 children, across the occupied West Bank – 75 of whom suffered live fire injuries.

Around 18 Palestinian citizens including at least one child, were injured in attacks by Israeli colonial settlers, OCHA added.

Israeli colonial settlers also caused damage to Palestinian property in 42 instances, according to the report.

The Israeli occupation authorities, meanwhile, demolished and seized 88 Palestinian structures, including 21 homes, in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem during the same reporting period on the pretext of being built without hard-to-obtain permits.

The OCHA report explained that such demolitions rendered 99 Palestinian citizens, including 54 children, homeless and affected the livelihoods of nearly 21,000 more.

The Israeli occupation army opened fire toward Palestinian farmlands near Gaza's eastern fence and Palestinian fishing boats off the besieged enclave's coast on at least 56 occasions.

The towns and villages of the occupied West Bank have recently seen a noticeable surge in abuses and attacks by the Israeli occupation and Israeli colonial settlers against the Palestinian people.
