Gaza, ALRAY - The Ministry of foreign affairs affirmed that the series of "Israeli" dispossession, displacement, and violations started in 1948 still continue against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, West Bank, and Jerusalem until now.

In a statement issued on the 75th anniversary of the Nakba of the Palestinian people, the ministry recalled that Nakba resulted in the displacement of more than 957,000 Palestinians out of 1.4 million Palestinians, who were residing in historical Palestine on May 15, 1948, from their villages and cities, in the biggest displacement humanity has ever witnessed.

According to the statistics of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), the number of Palestinian refugees in 2022 reached 6.4 million, about 2 million of whom reside in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, which means that two-thirds of the Palestinian people are displaced outside their lands.

The statement affirms that this anniversary comes only one day after the end of the brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which continued for 5 days, during which “Israel” used the most advanced US-made weaponry against innocent and defenseless people.

The brutal Israeli aggression resulted in 34 people dead, including 6 children, 4 women, and 2 elderlies, and 190 wounded, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip reported.

“The Zionist terrorism, fueled by racism and extremism, is waging an open war against every Palestinian, while the Palestinians are paying with their land, lives, blood, and the future of their children the price of the hypocrisy and double standards of the international community which turned a blind eye for 75 years on the rights of the Palestinian people and the historical injustice that has been inflicted upon them,” the ministry said.

On the 75th anniversary of the Nakba, the Palestinian people still demand their right to return and self-determination, in addition to establishing their independent state with its capital in Jerusalem, stopping the settlement expansion, and living in peace just like the rest of the nations in the world.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls the Arab states to immediately stop the normalization with occupation state and asks the international community, the European Union, and the United States, who constantly brag about their respect for human rights, to stand up for their responsibilities, stop "Israel" support, respect the historical identity of the Palestinian people, end the policy of double-standards in the favor of the occupation state, prosecute the political and military leaders of the occupation and bring them to justice for committing war crimes and shedding the Palestinian blood with complete disregard of the international conventions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like also to thank the free people of the world for their support of the Palestinian people and commemorating the Nakba anniversary all around the world, and call them to continue their efforts to help the Palestinian people until the end of the occupation and the establishment of the Palestinian state.
