Jerusalem, ALRAY - An Israeli military court has sentenced Bashir Darabie to 12 months in prison and ordered him to pay a fine of 5,000 shekels ($1,340).

The Asra Media Office said that the Israeli occupation army detained Darabie after storming and ransacking his home in Dura town in the occupied southern West Bank city of Hebron on 4 December 2022.

The Israeli occupation authorities then transferred Darabie to a detention facility in the illegal "Gush Etzion" settlement block, where he was interrogated for two weeks before being moved to Naqab prison.

After postponing his trial eight times, the Israeli military court of "Ofer" handed Darabie a 12-month jail term and a hefty fine.

So far, he has been arbitrarily jailed without charge or trial for six months.

The Israeli occupation is holding around 4,900 Palestinian detainees, including 34 women and nearly 160 children, in inhumane conditions and harsh conditions, according to Palestinian prisoners' rights organisations.
