West Bank, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation army shot and wounded a number of Palestinian citizens and detained several more during a raid into the occupied West Bank in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
According to medical sources, a Palestinian boy was injured by shrapnel after Israeli occupation forces opened fire at him in Al-Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron.
Israeli occupation soldiers violently beat up an elderly man at the entrance to Beit Einun village, in eastern Hebron.
The injured elderly man was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Local sources said that Israeli occupation forces also stormed and ransacked several homes during a large-scale raid into the towns of Sa'ir and Bani Na'im and interrogated some of their residents before detaining a number of local young men.
In Nablus, the Israeli occupation army broke into several areas in the northern West Bank city and detained five local citizens, including Hamas' Islamic Bloc representative at An-Najah University, Husam Shtayyeh, and the ex-detainee Mohammad Ahmad.
The Israeli occupation army has recently stepped up its violent raids into the towns and villages of the occupied West Bank, attacking Palestinian citizens and storming Palestinian homes and structures.
The Israeli occupation is holding around 4,900 Palestinian detainees, including 34 women and nearly 160 children, in inhumane conditions and harsh conditions, according to Palestinian prisoners' rights organisations
