West Bank, ALRAY - An Israeli military court has extended the arbitrary imprisonment of Hamas official Yasser al-Badrasawi for another four months without charge or trial.
This is the third time al-Badrasawi, who was set to be released Sunday, has had his administrative detention renewed without charge.
So far, al-Badrasawi has been held under administrative detention without charge or trial for one year.
The Hamas official had been previously detained several times by the Israeli occupation army and jailed for a total of 11 years, including 10 years under administrative detention without charge.
Administrative detention is a widely-condemned form of imprisonment that allows the Israeli occupation to hold Palestinians without charge or trial for renewable periods of time based on "secret evidence" in a stark violation of international humanitarian law.
The Israeli occupation is holding at least 1,016 Palestinians under administrative detention without charge, including six children and one woman, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Club.
