West Bank, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation army has closed an investigation into the circumstances of the killing of elderly Palestinian-American Omar Asad, alleging a "lack of evidence."
The Israeli occupation soldiers involved in Asad's execution under the pretext that there was no direct link found between their actions and the 80-year-old's death.
The Israeli occupation army said that the soldiers would face "only disciplinary measures".
According to eyewitnesses, Israeli occupation forces stopped Asad at an impromptu checkpoint, dragged him from his car, and bound and blindfolded him before leaving him unresponsive on the ground overnight after apparently suffering a heart attack due to his rough treatment.
The US State Department called last year for “a thorough criminal investigation and full accountability of Mr Assad’s death”.
