Jerusalem, ALRAY -An Israeli military court has extended the arbitrary incarceration of a Palestinian held under the so-called administrative detention without charge or trial for the third time in a row.
The Israeli military court of "Ofer" extended the administrative detention of Ghassan al-Zoghibi for another six months for the third consecutive time.
According to the Asra Media Office, the Israeli occupation army re-detained al-Zoghibi after storming his home in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin on 26 June 2022.
After moving him to the "Al-Jalama" detention facility, the Israeli occupation authorities issued al-Zoghibi a six-month administrative detention order.
When his first administrative detention order was about to end, an Israeli military court extended al-Zoghibi's arbitrary imprisonment for another six months at the request of the Israeli occupation intelligence service.
So far, al-Zoghibi has been held under administrative detention based on "secret evidence" for one year.
A married father of five children, al-Zoghibi had been detained several times and jailed for nearly ten years by the Israeli occupation authorities.
Administrative detention is a widely-condemned form of imprisonment that allows the Israeli occupation to hold Palestinians without charge or trial for renewable periods of time based on "secret evidence" in a stark violation of international humanitarian law.
The Israeli occupation is holding at least 1,016 Palestinians under administrative detention without charge, including six children and one woman, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Club.
