Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - In an unfortunate incident on the fourth day of Eid Al-Adha, Israeli occupation forces conducted a raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque, resulting in the arrest of several Palestinian youths who were subjected to physical assault.
According to local sources, the Israeli occupation forces detained and assaulted a group of Palestinian youths within the mosque's courtyards before taking them into custody. Additionally, Bab al-Asbat, one of the gates of the revered Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, was closed during the noon prayer, leading to a confrontation between Palestinian worshipers and the occupying forces.
The occupation forces also prevented Palestinians from entering through Bab al-Asbat, as they maintained a heavy presence in the Old City of Jerusalem.
In response to the closure, residents of Jerusalem gathered around Bab al-Asbat, defiantly performing the noon prayer and confronting the occupation forces with the aim of reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Jerusalem Affairs researcher Bassam Abu Saneh asserts that the Israeli occupation is actively seeking to exert control over the Prayer Hall of Bab al-Rahma and Bab al-Asbat, providing further evidence of a deliberate Zionist agenda targeting the eastern area of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Abu Saneh emphasizes the occupation's relentless efforts to suppress the presence of Jerusalem residents in the Bab al-Asbat area through ongoing targeting.
Despite the occupation's tightening grip and stringent measures in Jerusalem, tens of thousands of Palestinians defied the restrictions and joyfully performed the Eid al-Adha prayer at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, celebrating in its courtyards.
