Jerusalem, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation has deported Sheikh Najeh Bkirat, deputy director of the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf department, from occupied Jerusalem.

According to local sources, Israeli occupation forces broke into Sheikh Bkirat's home in Sur Baher town in occupied Jerusalem and moved him to a detention facility in the holy city.

Sheikh Bkirat said that he was questioned in harsh conditions for over four hours.

The Israeli occupation authorities deported Sheikh Bkirat to the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem after ordering him to sign a bail bond set at 10,000 shekels ($2,750).

About two weeks ago, Israeli occupation forces handed Sheikh Bkirat an order banning him from accessing occupied Jerusalem for six months but he refused to leave his hometown.

Over the past years, the Israeli occupation authorities detained Sheikh Bkirat several times and handed him several orders barring him from accessing the Al-Aqsa Mosque and travelling abroad.
