Jerusalem, ALRAY - Palestinian detainee Nazir Ahmad, 21, is in critical condition as his health continues to deteriorate due to deliberate medical negligence, according to the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs.

The commission said that its lawyer, Yousef Mattia, visited Ahmad in the notorious Israeli prison of “Ofer” and reported on his suffering from several health issues.

Ahmad, who has been jailed since 8 May 2022, was shot by the Israeli occupation army at the time of his detention.

He was hit with 25 bullets to the abdomen, causing severe damage to his intestines and colon.

According to the commission, Ahmad suffers from severe aches, vomiting, and bloating, in addition to excruciating pains in his back that prevent him from standing and walking sometimes unless he is given an injection.

There are still two bullets lodged in his back pressing on the left side of his spine.

The Israeli occupation prison authorities deliberately procrastinate giving him medical assistance.

Ahmad has not had check-ups in hospital since March despite his critical condition and his dire need for proper health care.
