Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - Concerns are mounting in the holy city of Jerusalem over the impending dangers posed by Talmudic rituals that extremist Zionists are planning to conduct within the sacred precincts of the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the upcoming Jewish holidays later this month.
Experts and observers within the occupied city have issued stern warnings regarding the increased militarization of the Israeli occupation forces within Jerusalem, as well as the transformation of the Old City and its vicinity, particularly in the vicinity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, into a military garrison. This alarming development comes just days before anticipated widespread incursions by settlers into the area.
Jamal Amro, a leading expert on Jerusalem affairs, has issued a stark warning regarding the significant escalation in security measures and military actions surrounding the Al-Aqsa Mosque, signaling a grave threat to the holy site. Amro emphasized the urgent need for mobilization within the sacred city and around the Al-Aqsa Mosque to confront the impending incursions and assaults on the revered sanctuary, which are expected to extend over a period of 20 days.
He stressed the imperative need for immediate and undelayed popular mobilization, as well as Islamic and Arab support, in response to the current situation in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the city of Jerusalem. He emphasized that time is of the essence as the threats to the Al-Aqsa Mosque continue to loom large.
Amro's call for action resonates with the urgency of the situation on the ground, where tensions are escalating rapidly. The need for a united front, both locally and regionally, is crucial to safeguarding the Al-Aqsa Mosque and preserving the sanctity of the holy city.
In a parallel call to action, political activist Intisar Al-Awawdeh has urged individuals to rally and stand steadfast within the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, offering their support to the defenders of the mosque and bolstering their efforts to counter the expected incursions by settlers during the Jewish holidays. The unity and determination of those standing in defense of the holy site are seen as vital elements in thwarting any potential provocations and ensuring the stability of the region.
Al-Awawdeh made it clear that there are no longer any excuses for not standing steadfast in defense of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. She emphasized that the incursions into the mosque are no longer merely a threat of Judaization but have become a means to solidify it, especially since the division of access times has been established. These incursions have now become a routine occurrence, carried out during the designated times set by extremists.
She called on the residents of Jerusalem, those in the occupied Palestinian territories, and anyone who can reach the Al-Aqsa Mosque, to take a stand against the occupation's persistence in its provocations and attempts to seize control of the holy site. She urged people to maintain a constant presence at the mosque to counter the occupation's actions.
Furthermore, Al-Awawdeh called upon the Palestinian Authority to assume its responsibility in defending the Al-Aqsa Mosque before international institutions and to cease pursuing resistance activists and advocates who are defending the holy site.
She also called upon the Arab and Islamic nations to mobilize in defense of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, stating, "Every Muslim knows that mobilization is a religious duty, so how can they ignore their role concerning the Al-Aqsa Mosque?" She emphasized that the continued efforts to solidify the Judaization of the mosque must be met with a united response from the broader Muslim and Arab communities.
Al-Awawdeh pointed out that the responsibility for countering the Judaization of the Al-Aqsa Mosque lies with the Arab regimes, which, she argued, have been rushing to normalize relations with an adversary that defiles the sacred site.
As tensions continue to mount around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the commitment to its protection and the rejection of any efforts to alter its status remain at the forefront of the Palestinian struggle for justice and sovereignty.
