Gaza, ALRAY - Gazan children sent on Sunday a message to the world in which they called for urgent intervention to guarantee their right to live without blockade.

The children said during a protest on Arab Children's Day in front of the United Nations headquarters in Gaza City "We are the Palestinian children, living in a large prison called the Gaza Strip because of the unjust Israeli blockade."

They added, "We are children who love life, but the Israeli killing machine assassinated our childhood. Its aircrafts bombed our homes day and night above our heads, and its missiles tore apart our weak bodies."

They also said, "We are more than a million Palestinian children living in Gaza Strip. We suffer from an unjust siege that has been going on for 17 years. We are denied treatment and medicine, cut off our electricity, and are deprived of enjoying our most basic rights to live a safe and dignified life, guaranteed to us by international conventions and international humanitarian law."

They emphasized that this blockade has exacerbated the suffering of refugees and compounded the economic and social suffering of Palestinian families, which has increased the suffering of the children in all fields.

The gathering children pointed out that the Israeli occupation forces have killed dozens of Palestinian children since the beginning of 2023, with the number of child martyrs since 2000 reaching 2,259 children, while the number of Palestinian children who were detained during the same period reached more than 20 thousand children, including more than 160 children who are still in prison, where they are subjected to the most horrific methods of psychological and physical torture.

The children stated, "We, the Palestinian children, have the right to live without siege. We have the right to live in peace and freedom. We have the right to receive the best education and treatment. We have the right to play, have fun and exercise our full rights like the rest of the children of the world."

They added, "We cry out to you at the loudest voice to save our childhood from the oppression of the Israeli occupation and its unjust siege. We appeal to the free people of the whole world, the international community, UNICEF and Save Children o work hard to lift the siege on us, to bring the Israeli occupation to justice for its crimes against children, and to release the captured children from the occupation prisons."

The children appealed to pressure the Israeli occupation to lift its unjust blockade, give them their full rights, receive the best treatment and reach their schools safely without fear or intimidation.
