West Bank, ALRAY - Israeli colonial settlers have chopped down scores of olive trees in Deir Dibwan town, east of Ramallah, in the central occupied West Bank.

Local sources said that mobs of Israeli colonial settlers broke into a grove in Deir Dibwan late Sunday night and uprooted and destroyed more than 60 fruitful olive trees.

The uprooted trees belong to a local citizen called Abdel Jabbar Jaber.

The attack came a few days ahead of the olive harvest season, which runs between October and November, the main source of livelihood for tens of thousands of Palestinian families in the occupied West Bank.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army and armed colonial settlers often ban Palestinian farmers from accessing their lands in the occupied West Bank

.

According to the UN, Israeli colonial settlers regularly attack Palestinian farmers and their lands, especially during harvest seasons.
