Gaza Strip, ALRAY – The Palestinian Ministry of Health has called on international and regional parties to urgently provide medical supplies and medicine to the Gaza Strip as the Israeli occupation continues its aggression against the besieged enclave.  

The ongoing Israeli aggression has aggravated Gaza’s healthcare system and caused severe shortages of medicine and medical supplies, the ministry warned in a press statement on Sunday evening.

The ministry explained that the complete electricity blackout in Gaza has put the lives of hundreds of injured people in intensive care units and operating rooms at serious risk.

The Israeli occupation authorities cut power supplies to the Gaza Strip, much of the impoverished territory in the dark.

The ministry stressed that its crews are battling to provide the fuel needed to operate backup generators in order to maintain essential services at medical facilities.

The ministry called on the international community and all relevant parties to place pressure on the Israeli occupation to resume electricity supplies to the besieged Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation minister of war said he “ordered a complete siege on Gaza, adding there will be “no power, no food, no gas, everything is closed," in the blockaded enclave.

He continued: "We are fighting human animals and we are acting accordingly."

The Israeli occupation army launched an all-out assault against the besieged Gaza Strip, killing at least 493 Palestinian citizens, mostly women and children, and injuring around 2,751 more since the early hours of Saturday morning.
