Ministry of Detainees condemns Israeli prison doctor’s comments

Ashraf Hussein, Head of Public Relations at the Ministry of Detainees’ Affairs, strongly condemned comments made by an Israeli Prison Administration doctor about Palestinian prisoner Dirar Abu Sisi, currently held in Ashkelon prison.

 

Abu Sisi’s lawyer reported that when Mr Sisi was taken to the Ramle Prison Clinic for treatment, a Russian doctor shouted, “Where is that terrorist who should be dead, not treated?”

 

Hussein rejected the comment, and said that the Israeli prison Administration regularly violates International Humanitarian Law.

 

Dirar Abu Sisi was kidnapped from the Ukraine on 18th February 2011, rendered in a coffin to Israel, where he was tortured before being banished to solitary confinement, where he has remained for more than one year.

 

Abu Sisi suffers from significant health issues, including heart problems and anaemia, for which he does not receive adequate treatment in
