Gaza, Alray - Yisrael Beiteinu called for an amendment of "Equal Burden Law" so as to draft Palestinians with an Israeli citizenship, threatening to vote against the law if it has not been changed.
A representative of the party said that despite the introduction of significant changes such as extension of religious soldiers' service term and determining penalties for evaders of service, the law still lacks significant components.
Itzhak Aharonovitch pointed out that "there should be a transition period no more than 5 years to enforce the law before the drafting," adding that if the law was proposed next Sunday without the required changes, he, as well as all ministers of party would vote against it.
The "Perry Committee for equal burden" presented Saturday morning before the government secretariat the new proposal, which includes legislative amendments to the Security Service Act and the Civil Service Law and the government decision in order that the Cabinet votes on it on Sunday.
