Gaza, Alray - Israeli Military Forces (IMF) raised alert status and increased the watch on coast for fearing of sea - Intifada- uprising, Wala Hebrew site reported.
It is witnessed an increase in frictions between the Israeli military navy and Palestinian fishermen over the allowed area of fishing which is estimated to 6 miles off shore.
The IMF intensified the military patrols operating in opposite Gaza shore for a fear of carrying military operations against Israeli important sites in Israeli coastal cities nearby Gaza.
The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) documented 29 attacks launched by the Israeli forces against Palestinian fishermen , who did not pose any threat to Israeli soldiers, during the reporting period (01 March – 31 May 2013), including 29 shooting incidents in which a fisherman was wounded; and 2 hound operations in which 2 fishermen were arrested and their boats and other fishing tools were confiscated.
According to PCHR's follow-ups, 85% of the Israeli attacks took place within the allowed fishing area, which proved that Israeli forces' policies aimed to tighten restrictions on the Gaza Strip's fishermen and their means of making livelihood.
