Memo - The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) has demanded hidden facts relating to the resumption of bilateral negotiations be revealed this evening to the Palestinian public.
They also urged the PLO's executive committee to assume its responsibilities and duties towards the Palestinian public, who are being ignored, marginalized and denied information over the "resumption of direct negotiations," according to a spokeswoman for the U.S. State Department.
In a statement, the Popular Front said that the U.S. Secretary of State's pledge to the Palestinian side, in which the border between the two parties must be based on the lines of 67 with agreed amendments, and his promise the Israeli side that they would be recognized as a Jewish state, negate each other. It denies the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the right to make decisions on the Palestinian narrative.
Moreover, accepting this pledge in itself is against the decision of the Central Council and the position of the National Labor and Islamic factions. They warned of verbal manipulation which links the natural and legal right for the release of the prisoners to making new concessions and ‘progress in the negotiations'.
The Front saw in Kerry's promises a retreat from the commitments of former President Bush, who has talked about ending the occupation that began in 1967, and reminds us of earlier pledges that went unheeded during the rounds of Mitchell, Ross, Indyk and Condoleezza Rice.
It also reminds us of the pledges made by the current American President Obama in his previous term at Cairo University, which required everyone to raise the voice of our people high in rejection of the negotiations and in condemnation of the suppression of freedoms and the arrests and attacks against demonstrators by the PA's security apparatus, while holding on to the restoration of national unity.
The Popular Front confirmed that these pledges, which are based on the U.S. misleading policy that aims to drag the Palestinian negotiator to continue running after the mirage of American solutions, is part of a deceiving strategy that covers the implementation of the occupation's schemes regarding the Judaization of the land and holy places and the displacement of the Palestinians. It also enables the occupying power to get away with increasing isolation, international pressure and the international movement for boycott and anti-normalization, and takes the question of Palestine back to the jungles of guardianship and total loss.
