Israeli authorities issue prison sentences against two Palestinian detainees from Ramallah

West Bank, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation military court in Ofer sentenced on Tuesday Palestinian detainee Ahmed Hamdan from Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank to 26 months in prison, in addition to a fine of 10,000 shekels.

 

Al-Asra Media Office stated that Israeli forces detained Hamdan on the 13th of December 2020 after besieging his home and transferring him to be investigated at the Ofer military center.

 

Al-Asra Office explained that the Israeli intelligence charged Hamdan with several charges of alleged planning to carry out acts of resistance against Israeli forces, and belonging to a banned organization.

 

In a related context, the Israeli occupation court sentenced detainee Issa Ahmed Hamad from Bil'in in Ramallah to 18 months in prison, in addition to a fine of 2,500 shekels.

 

Israeli forces detained Hamad on the 30th of April 2021 after raiding his home and damaging its contents under the pretext of searching it, before transferring Hamad to be investigated at the Ofer detention center for more than 3 weeks.

 

Al-Asra Media Office added that the Israeli intelligence charged Hamad with alleged incitement and participation in anti-Israel activities that pose a threat to the security of the region.
