Gaza, Alray - Waed Association for Prisoners and Ex-prisoners said that eight Palestinian prisoners launched on Monday an open-ended hunger strike in solidarity with Dirar Abu Sisi to end his solitary confinement.
It indicated in a statement that prisoners were supposed to begin their hunger strike on Sunday but they suspended it after the Israeli Prison Service(IPS) promised to find a solution to end Abu Sisi's tragedy.
The prisoner who launched the hunger strike are Asim Barghouti, Uday Salem, Mahmoud Abdullatif, Moaz Masalma, Iyad Albu, Fadi Al-Nimnim, Anas Al-Dweik, and Uday Sonnoqort, according to Waed's media bureue.
This step is considered a preliminary phase that will witness more escalation in the coming days if the IPS continues Abu Sisi's isolation, it added.
