West Bank, ALRAY - A Palestinian youth was wounded late Tuesday by Israeli fire and others suffered suffocation on tear gas during clashes with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in the town of Beit Amer, north of Hebron in the occupied West Bank.

According to eyewitnesses, the IOF attacked the funeral of a Palestinian citizen and tried to prevent mourners from reaching the cemetery located at the entrance to the town, which led to the outbreak of clashes.

The witnesses explained that IOF members climbed on the rooftops of a number of Palestinian homes in the area of Assida and fired live bullets, stun grenades and tear gas canisters at mourners after the closure of the iron gate erected at the main entrance to the town, which led to the injury of a young man with a live bullet in his leg, in addition to the suffocation on tear gas and fainting of several Palestinians as well.

Witnesses added that similar clashes broke out in the al-Dhahr area in the town, during which several Palestinians suffered suffocation on Israeli tear gas.
