Jerusalem, ALRAY - The Palestinian Prisoners Club announced Wednesday that 30 Palestinian administrative detainees are planning to go on a hunger strike on 25 September to protest their incarceration without charge or trial.
In a press statement, the detainees said that they are set to start their strike in three days, stressing that they are ready to fight against the illegal Israeli policy of administrative detention.
This move comes amid a dramatic surge in administrative detention orders issued against Palestinians by the Israeli occupation authorities.
The Israeli occupation is now holding 760 Palestinians, including children, women, elderly people and patients, under administrative detention without charge or trial in its prisons.
Some 80 per cent of Palestinian administrative detainees had been previously jailed, some of whom for years, by the Israeli occupation authorities.
