Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - Britain considers moving its embassy from Tal Aviv to occupied Jerusalem, current Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Liz Truss, informed her Israeli counterpart, Yair Lapid, Hebrew media sources reported.

Hebrew Kibah News site reported on Thursday that Truss informed Lapid that its country is looking positively at the issue of moving the embassy during their meeting early today, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

On the other hand, Lapid congratulated Truss on her election, and expressed his confidence that under her leadership, relations between Israel and Britain will reach new heights in a number of fields, with a focus on the fields of economy and innovation, as well as security.

Lapid also urged his British counterpart not to make any concessions on the Iranian file, and said that "Israel is waiting for Britain to work on signing a far-reaching agreement, but on the condition that it is more stringent, so that it responds to various Iranian threats."

It is noteworthy that Teruss pledged, during her tenure as British Foreign Secretary, to transfer the British embassy to occupied Jerusalem, if she was elected as prime minister, which means Britain's recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of "Israel".
