Jerusalem, AA- Sheikh Mohamed Hussein, mufti of Al-Quds (Jerusalem), condemned on Tuesday the assertion by Israeli Police Commissioner Yohanan Danino that Jews enjoyed "an undisputed right" to enter the city's Aqsa Mosque compound.
"These statements are very dangerous. They emanate from a security official whose forces control the entrances to the Aqsa Mosque complex," Hussein said in a statement.
Hussein warned against standing "idly by" in the face of such remarks, which he said indicate "grave intentions" vis-à-vis Islam's third holiest site.
The mufti went on to urge Muslims to flock to the mosque to protect it from "fierce and flagrant attack."
