Gaza, ALRAY - Administrative detainees in Ofer and Negev prison warned that they would begin to protest if the Israeli authorities don’t implement the agreement reached in April.
Local media reported that Prisoners Club’s lawyer said “the protest would see escalatory steps to be taken according to certain program once the Israeli authorities respond to their demands,”
According to the club, Ofer and Negev prisoners wrote a letter to ‘army commander’ in the region urging him to put an end to the policy of administrative detention. They said would take protest action if the Israeli forces carry on with administrative detention.
Ofer and Negev prisoners staged in April a mass strike in protest at the administrative detention policy.
