Gaza, ALRAY - US Secretary of State John Kerry left the region Tuesday morning without meeting personally with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and flew to Europe today to attend the NATO meeting in Brussels.
Haaretz Newspaper said that no clear reasons behind Kerry’s leaving , asking if it is relevant with postponing the release of the 4th batch of Palestinian prisoners.
AFP reported earlier Tuesday that Kerry's meetings with Abbas were cancelled Monday when a meeting with Netanyahu dragged on too late with no progress reported.
Kerry met instead with PA chief negotiator Saeb Erakat. He will be back, however, on Wednesday to complete the talks.
