Gaza, ALRAY - The Egyptian authorities refused to allow on Saturday an European medical team from entering the besieged Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing.
The coordinator of the Palestinian doctors' committee in Europe, Abedeen Fayez said that the team included experts in anesthesiology, surgery and disaster medicine.
In this respect, Fayez accused the Egyptian authorities of deliberately tightening the siege on the Gaza Strip as it prevented their team from entering the Strip to provide medical care or medicines for the Gazans.
The coordinator called on the Egyptian authorities to facilitate the entrance of the team to Gaza, pointing out that many medical teams and activists were seeking to enter Gaza to provide help and support to the Palestinian people.
Worth mentioning that Egypt opened Rafah border only for those with Egyptian nationality to leave Gaza and a few number of injured during the ongoing Israeli offensive against the Gaza Strip.
