Gaza, ALRAY - Israeli occupation authorities asked Palestinians to close their Facebook accounts in order to be allowed to travel via Erez crossing, cooperating with Israeli intelligence no longer be a demand to travel via Erez.

The head of the studies and documentations unit at Detainees Commission, Abd Annaser Ferwanah noted that Israeli occupation authorities follows new methods to extorted Palestinians in Gaza.

He explained that Israeli authorities demanded the Palestinians not to criticize Israel on their Facebook accounts or to close it totally in ordered to obtain the permission to travel via Erez crossing.

He said that the most affected people are the official figures, adding that they may arrest or cancel the permission to travel as well.  

Erez crossing, controlled by Israel, is the only crossing via which Palestinians in Gaza could travel to West Bank or Jordan. Most of the travelers are of the patients whom Israel stepped their need  for  treatment on .  

Ferwanah considered it a new blackmailing method that contradicts with the international regulations, pointing to cases in which Israeli forces arrested youths in West Bank for their activities on Facebook.

 He said that Israeli occupation authorities arrested 50 Palestinians of Gaza while seek to travel via Erez crossing since the beginning of this year.
