Occupied Palestine, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation army has demolished the Palestinian Bedouin village of Al-Araqib in the occupied southern Naqab (Negev) region for the 221st time.

According to local sources, Israeli occupation forces, accompanied by military bulldozers, broke into Araqib village and destroyed all structures, made of wood, plastic, and tin sheets, in the village.

This is the tenth time the Bedouin village has been destroyed so far this year. In 2022, the Israeli occupation authorities demolished the village 15 times.

The Israeli occupation government does not recognise the Al-Araqib. However, the villagers insist on remaining on their land despite the repeated demolition of their homes.

Al-Araqib is home to 22 families comprising nearly 800 people, living on raising livestock and farming.

The Naqab desert region is home to over 240,000 Palestinians, most of whom live in villages and communities not recognised by the Israeli occupation authorities.
