Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - Israeli occupation’s decision to displace 10 Palestinian families living in the occupied Jerusalem’s area of Sheikh Jarrah based on forged documents, said head of the PLO’s Jerusalem Affairs Department, Adnan al-Husseini.
Al-Husseini added that the documents provided by settlement associations, which demonstrate the ownership of the lands above which the houses of the families are built, were proved false.
He pointed out that the new settlement project in occupied Jerusalem, involving the construction of over 1200 housing units, basically aims at separating the city from its neighbor Bethlehem.
The head of the Jerusalem Affairs Department indicated that the Israeli occupation is going on in its settlement policy in all Palestinian lands, particularly in occupied Jerusalem, within the context of the so-called deal of the century, but without any official declaration.
He also pointed out that the absence of any form of punishment or pressure by the international community against the Israeli occupation encourages it to continue with its settlement policy.
He went on to say the displacement by the Israeli occupation of dozens of Palestinian families from the occupied Jerusalem’s towns and neighborhoods and the threat of destroying people’s houses in other areas of the city aim at Judaizing the city and strangulating it with settlements.
