Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY - Israeli occupation bulldozers on Monday morning demolished the house of chief guard of Al-Aqsa Mosque Fadi Elyan in al-Issawiya village in occupied Jerusalem.

The Elyan family said that the Israeli occupation had notified them of its intention to demolish their home at the end of February but they were shocked to know the village’s council members were informed of the demolition early this morning.

They explained that they have lost a legal battle to reverse the demolition, adding that an Israeli court refused their lawyer’s petition about a week ago and issued a demolition order against their house.

The house was built roughly ten years ago, the family continued, noting the Israeli occupation authorities fined them for “unlicensed construction” before issuing a demolition order against the home.

It’s worth mentioning that the he two-storey house, which comprises of four apartments, accommodates 30 people, mostly women and children.

The area of occupied Jerusalem has been subjected to massive demolitions by the Israeli occupation for the purpose of expelling Palestinians out of their lands and Judaizing the city.
