Gaza, ALRAY - A humanitarian crisis is unfolding in Gaza due to the continuous “Israeli” aggression for the second day.

It was announced today that the sole power plant in the blockaded strip has stopped, as the “Israeli” occupation refuses to allow the entry of fuel necessary to run the plant.

The lack of power aggravates the suffering of the Gazans as it complicates the work of medical teams, and forces water pumps and sewage processing facilities to stop. As a result of the power crisis, the health services are expected to stop within 72 hours.

The toll of the “Israeli” aggression on its 2nd day rose to 13 people dead, including a five-year-old girl, and more than 90 wounded. The large number of injuries threatens the collapse of the already-crumbling health sector, as it lacks 40% of drugs and equipment necessary to deal with emergency cases with mass causalities.

In the light of these dangerous developments, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is sending an urgent appeal to the whole world to stop the “Israeli” aggression, resume the entry of fuel to the Gaza power plant, provide the health sector with critically-needed drugs, and put an end to the unfolding crisis in Gaza.
