Hebron, ALRAY - The European Union has said that it was "appalled" after the Israeli occupation army knocked down a Palestinian primary school in Masafer Yatta in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron.

"Appalled by news that ISF demolished the donor funded Sfai school in Masafer Yatta in occupied Palestinian territory, one day after a diplomatic visit by several EU member states," the EU Delegation to the Palestinians wrote on Twitter on Wednesday evening.

Calling for respecting the Palestinian children's right to education, the statement said: "Greatly alarmed by Israeli measures targeting humanitarian structures. Continued coercive measures threaten the existence of the Palestinian communities Masafer Yatta."

The Israeli occupation army demolished Wednesday a recently-built Palestinian primary school in Isfey al-Fauqa village, which served dozens of students from different villages in Masafer Yatta.

Israeli occupation forces violently attacked the students and seized all equipment after levelling the school to the ground.
