Jerusalem, ALRAY - The Israeli occupation prison service has urgently transferred Palestinian detainee Khader Adnan to an Israeli hospital as his health continues to deteriorate.

No further information was provided about his health status.

The Muhjat al-Quds rights group warned of Adnan's deteriorating condition after 79 days of hunger strike to protest his arbitrary detention without charge or trial.

On Sunday, an Israeli court turned down a request to release Adnan on bail despite his critical health condition.

During the hearing, Adnan, who appeared in court via video conference, lost consciousness several times and could not contact his family.

The Israeli occupation army detained Adnan on 5 February after raiding and ransacking his home in Arraba in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin. Since then, he has been on an opened-ended hunger strike to protest his arbitrary incarceration without charge or trial.
