Jerusalem, ALRAY - An Israeli occupation court in occupied Jerusalem has handed a 40-month jail term to a Palestinian citizen of occupied Jerusalem.
Local official Amjad Abu Asab said that the Israeli court sentenced Mahmoud al-Risheq to 40 months in prison and ordered him to pay a fine of 5,000 shekels ($1,350).
Israeli occupation forces detained al-Risheq on 28 May 2022. Since then, he has been arbitrarily held without charge.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation authorities released Mahdi Jaber and Ezzeddin Jaber after handing them 15-day house arrest orders.
The Israeli occupation forces detained both young men after storming their homes in the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood in Silwan town early Tuesday morning.
The Israeli occupation is holding around 4,900 Palestinian detainees, including 34 women and nearly 160 children in harsh and inhumane conditions in its prisons, according to Palestinian prisoners' rights organizations.
