West Bank, ALRAY - In a recent statement on Sunday, US President Joe Biden expressed his view that the current Israeli government under Benjamin Netanyahu consists of individuals within the Ministerial Cabinet whom he considers the most extremist he has encountered in his lifetime.

He pointed out that the extremist ministers Naftali Bennett and Itamar Ben Gvir are part of the problem in the occupied West Bank.

During an interview with the American news channel CNN, President Joe Biden considered the ministers of Netanyahu's government, who desire settlement expansion everywhere, are part of the problem. This comes despite Washington's efforts to mediate the expansion of the Abraham Accords and encourage Riyadh's normalization with Tel Aviv.

He further emphasized that Israel and Saudi Arabia still remain far from the possibility of normalizing their bilateral relations, indicating that the path towards normalization between Tel Aviv and Riyadh is long.

Biden clarified that he still believes in the two-state solution and held the Palestinian Authority responsible for the situation in the occupied West Bank, which continues to witness ongoing Israeli escalations. He also partially attributed the responsibility for the security situation in the West Bank to some ministers in the Israeli government.
